Student Choreography and Dance Performance Adjudications

Submission deadline: 5:00 pm, Friday, March 6, 2009
Submit to: Your college's dance program director
Submissions should be made through your college instructor.
Eligibility: Any person enrolled in a “for credit” dance class at any Maricopa Community College during the 2008-2009 school year is eligible to participate through his or her local college.

Choreography

Categories: Solo and Group (Two or more)
Choreography must be original student work.

Time Limits:

  • Solo – Minimum of 3 minutes; maximum of 5 minutes.
  • Group – Minimum of 4 minutes; maximum of 10 minutes.

Prizes: Award goes to the choreographer.

First Place: $300
Second Place: $200
Third Place: $100
Honorable Mention: Certificate		 First Place: $500

Dance Performance

Categories: Solo and Group
Choreography may be by anyone.

Time Limits:

  • Solo – Minimum of 3 minutes; maximum of 5 minutes.
  • Group – Minimum of 4 minutes; maximum of 10 minutes.

Prizes: Award goes to the performers.

First Place: $300
Second Place: $200
Third Place: $100

  • First Place work in each category will be performed at the Artists of Promise performance scheduled for April 29 (rehearsal) and April 30 (performance), 2009 at the Herberger Theater.
  • All awards will be made at the Artists of Promise Performance on April 30, 2009.
