Visiting Artist Grants

What are Visiting Artist Grants?

Visiting Artist Grants are mini-grants, funded through the Maricopa Center for Learning and Instruction (MCLI), which support projects that invite innovative artists to Maricopa Community Colleges to expand the artistic talents and knowledge of Maricopa’s students and faculty. Funds are available on a competitive basis through a grant proposal process until the funds are depleted each academic year. Visiting Artist Grants are not designed to sustain projects long-term, nor are they intended to support pre-existing programs or supplement other Maricopa grant opportunities.

Funding Criteria:

Visiting Artist Grants are intended to support the development of fine and performing arts programs throughout the district by inviting innovative artists to MCCCD colleges. Proposals should address the following elements:

  • The qualification(s) of the innovative Guest Artist
  • The focus on learning for students and faculty
  • The alignment with college and district mission, vision, and strategic priorities

Funding Details:

The Visiting Artist Grants provide funding for single college, multi-college, or district-wide innovative artist visits. (Single college proposals are not to exceed $1500; multi-college visits are not to exceed $3000.)
