Maricopa Community Colleges 2009 Music Competition

Each year the Maricopa Community Colleges sponsor a competition for music students to enter in the following categories:

• Composition
• Instrumental Solo
• Piano Solo
• Guitar Solo
• Instrumental Ensemble
• Vocal Solo-Classical (Male and Female)
• Vocal Solo-Music Theater (Male and Female)

Scholarship awards are provided to those students who place in the competition. First Place winners in all categories are also provided the opportunity to showcase their talent in the Artists in Promise event.

Instrumental Competition will be held Friday, March 27, 2009 at Glendale Community College.

Vocal Competition will be held Friday, March 27, 2009 at Scottsdale Community College.

With the exception of the Composition category, applications to enter all other categories of the competition are due to the College Music Coordinators by noon on Friday, February 20, 2009. Composition applications are due by noon on Friday, February 27, 2009.
