 Unlock Your Future

You are The Key to Success: Unlock Your Future

National research indicates that Minority Males are not attending or graduating from college at the same rate as other collegiate counterparts. The Maricopa County Community College District’s Minority Male Initiative is an effort designed to support and implement structures that increase access, promote retention and improve degree completion rates for minority male students engaged in the community college experience. The program serves to connect minority males with academic and other support resources that will enhance their college environment. The three main goals of the Maricopa County Community College District's Minority Male Initiative Conference include:
  • To provide resources, tools, and learning experiences that will empower minority males to make social, economic, and academic choices that will improve their quality of life.
  • To promote programs and services that are successful at meeting the needs of minority males and those providing services to minority male students.
  • To provide minority males a venue in which they can actively engage in a dialogue to voice concerns and address issues they deem relevant.
