Curriculum
The Institute will be divided into four, one-week themes. Each week’s work will begin with a presentation of current theory, research, and practice from renowned experts in their respective fields (Dr. Hunter Boylan, Dr. Barbara Bonham, Dr. Russell Hodges, and Dr. David Arendale). Current Maricopa Faculty who are either Kellogg certified specialists or former MSI participants will serve as the facilitators for the Institute; the facilitators are Robin Ozz, Mary Zimmerer, and Roberta Pardo. Teams will research each of the areas, present their findings, and present practical applications for classroom use. Each week a research paper and reflection on that week’s topic are required.
Beyond the assignment requirements of the Institute itself, participants will be required to design, implement, and assess a semester-long practicum at their colleges and present their results in various media.
