In this hands-on session, participants will learn how to create audio using Audacity. Participants will learn tips for creating the best quality audio, choosing the best optimal equipment (mics, recorders), and converting audio to optimal file size. Then participants will learn how to turn that mp3 audio file into a podcast. Participants will learn how to create a podcast using a blog (Wordpress or Blogger), burn the RSS feed for the podcast, and subscribe to podcasts. Participants will also see a demo on how to create a podcast in iTunes U.

Facilitator
Dr. Alisa Cooper teaches freshman composition courses at South Mountain Community College. She is an avid technology user and teaches online, hybrid, and face-to-face courses using many different Web 2.0 technologies. Alisa serves as a podcasting specialist for the Maricopa Community College District providing a series of podcasting workshops throughout the year for the Maricopa Center for Learning and Instruction (MCLI). Alisa's interest in technology drove her to complete her doctorate in Instructional Technology and Distance Education from Nova Southeastern University in 2005. She also serves as co-chair of the College Technology Committee at SMCC.
