Open Textbooks/Educational Resources Learnshop

Workshop participants will discover how to locate, select, develop, customize, share, and disseminate free online course learning materials, commonly known as open educational resources and open textbooks. The benefits, challenges, and strategies of supporting the adoption of open textbooks on campus will be discussed.

Facilitator

Dr. Judy Baker is the Dean of Foothill Global Access at Foothill College as well as Director of the Community College Consortium for Open Educational Resources. Previously, Dr. Baker was dean of distance learning at Florida Community College at Jacksonville and San Diego Community College District. She was a professor at Texas Woman's University for 12 years. Dr. Baker has published and presented in many areas, in particular on issues of online and distance education, at various state and national conferences. Judy has received several national and state awards for her leadership role in the use of technology in education.
