Using Video to Enhance Your Course

Participants will learn how to upload video to different online video sharing sites, create a vodcast using one of the online video sharing sites, embed video into blogs, wikis, social network and Blackboard. Participants will learn how to subscribe to vodcasts in both iTunes and other RSS readers. Lastly, participants will learn how video sharing sites can be used to enhance a course.

Facilitator

Dr. Alisa Cooper teaches freshman composition courses at South Mountain Community College. She is an avid technology user and teaches online, hybrid, and face-to-face courses using many different Web 2.0 technologies. Alisa serves as a podcasting specialist for the Maricopa Community College District providing a series of podcasting workshops throughout the year for the Maricopa Center for Learning and Instruction (MCLI). Alisa's interest in technology drove her to complete her doctorate in Instructional Technology and Distance Education from Nova Southeastern University in 2005. She also serves as co-chair of the College Technology Committee at SMCC.
