Creating Video

In this hands-on session, participants will learn how to create video using inexpensive camcorders. Participants will learn tips for shooting video, choosing the best optimal equipment, and converting video to different formats for different purposes (YouTube, iTunes U). Participants will learn to use both on-board video editing software for the Flip Camera and Window Movie Maker to make basic edits.

Facilitator

Dr. Alisa Cooper teaches freshman composition courses at South Mountain Community College. She is an avid technology user and teaches online, hybrid, and face-to-face courses using many different Web 2.0 technologies. Alisa serves as a podcasting specialist for the Maricopa Community College District providing a series of podcasting workshops throughout the year for the Maricopa Center for Learning and Instruction (MCLI). Alisa's interest in technology drove her to complete her doctorate in Instructional Technology and Distance Education from Nova Southeastern University in 2005. She also serves as co-chair of the College Technology Committee at SMCC.
