Maricopa Quality Matters
About
MCLI is currently acting as the Quality Matters statewide agency or lead institution undertaking the coordination responsibilities for participating institutions (affiliates) in the state of Arizona. Several of the Maricopa Community Colleges are Quality Matters subscribers. To continue with the growing success of the QM initiative, Arizona State University, University of Arizona, Cochise College, Northern Arizona University and Pima Community College have been added as partner affiliates of the Arizona Statewide QM Consortium for academic year 2010-2011.
Quality Matters is a faculty-centered, peer review process designed to certify the quality of online courses and online components. Sponsored by MarylandOnline, Inc, Quality Matters has generated widespread interest and received national recognition for its peer-based approach to quality assurance and continuous improvement in online education. It created a set of review criteria based on the research literature and national standards, incorporated these criteria into an interactive web-based rubric with annotations, and developed training and a process for conducting team course reviews.
