About
Maricopa Digital Badging is a faculty-driven opportunity for districtwide recognition of skills, achievements, and experiences that faculty care about and that can be verified by an established set of criteria. The focus is on successfully demonstrating mastery of competencies (i.e., outcomes-based learning), rather than time-on-task or seat-time. This framework allows the Colleges to implement their own faculty development programs while allowing for the transferability of recognition between Colleges. Maricopa digital badges are verified by the Maricopa Digital Badging Alliance. |
Who is Supporting Maricopa Digital Badges?
The Maricopa Digital Badge Alliance (MDBA) is composed of MCCCD faculty and staff serving on the District Faculty Development Committee, Directors of Centers for Teaching and Learning, Adjunct Faculty, and representatives from the Maricopa Center for Learning and Innovation (MCLI). The goal of the MDBA is to ensure consistency in the processes of submitting a proposal to develop and earn a digital badge.

Professional development opportunities may be scaffolded across different levels, depending on the depth and complexity of the specific area. Each college determines the faculty development programming to support faculty in developing evidence demonstrating the achievement of district-wide professional development areas. |
