Private and corporate sponsorship opportunities are available to those interested in supporting an endowment that will provide scholarships for students to study abroad. Study abroad experiences are becoming increasingly more important in this age, due to the realities of a global economy that inextricably links our community to the rest of the world. Hence our students need to be educated to be "global citizens" who are well prepared to function in a global marketplace. One of the best ways to accomplish this is through spending time outside the country in a study abroad program.
All of the Maricopa study abroad programs are sponsored by program fees, paid for by the participants. While we do our best to offer low cost study abroad programs, many students are still unable to participate in them without substantial financial assistance toward the total program cost.
Individual and corporations interested in contributing toward the Maricopa Endowment for Student Study Abroad Programs should contact the Maricopa Community Colleges Foundation at 480-731-8400.
Once the endowment has been established, scholarship funds will be administered by the district international education office in conjunction with the international education offices of the colleges.
