This workshop is in collaboration with ASU Blackstone LaunchPad team members, MCLI leaders, and the Phoenix Forge team to focus on strategies for infusing innovation sprints into an interdisciplinary curriculum that engages diverse populations on a journey into innovation and entrepreneurship to solve real-life problems. Participants will have opportunities to consider how their course objectives aligns with innovation sprint programming.
LaunchPad is a signature program of the Blackstone Charitable Foundation that seeks to equip college students with entrepreneurial skills and career exposure opportunities to help them build lasting careers. The ASU Blackstone LaunchPad offers programming for ASU and MCCCD students to build skills, develop entrepreneurial ideas, connect with mentors, and access paid internship opportunities.
During this workshop, participants will receive an overview of the laser cutting tools and processes available at Phoenix Forge. Participants will be guided through an example project that includes an MCLI/Phoenix Forge Box. Participants will also be provided with information about Phoenix Forge membership, additional classes open to the community, and all making equipment including but not limited to 3D printing, laser cutters, metal shop, wood shop, jewelry making, and industrial sewing.
No making experience is needed.
